Roundtables
The Rock Center hosts a series of closed-door roundtable discussions designed to foster a more informal and candid dialogue among participants. These programs can take many forms:

SIIF
Twice a year, the Rock Center hosts the Stanford Institutional Investors’ Forum (SIIF). SIIF provides an opportunity for its members, including many of the nation’s largest and most sophisticated institutional investors, as well as governance thought leaders from certain issuers, to meet in a confidential setting to discuss current governance and policy issues of concern to the institutional investor community.
Public and Private Sector Roundtables
Roundtable discussions with members of the public and private sectors help to cultivate relationships, build trust, and allow market participants to weigh in on policy proposals and regulations. In recent years, the Rock Center has hosted roundtable discussions with government officials and industry leaders on topics such as securing innovation, decoupling and fragmenting globalization, inbound and outbound investment screening, and the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.

Peer to Peer Roundtables
The Rock Center also hosts peer-to-peer roundtable discussions with various stakeholder groups to promote learning and to help foster the free exchange of information and ideas. For example, recently a private company governance working group met to share feedback and best practices around the governance of venture-backed companies at all stages of the company’s lifecycle. Roundtable discussions among board members may address timely topics in governance or soft skills such as emotional intelligence and team building. The Rock Center also contributes to general counsel roundtables hosted by some of its law firm affiliates.
